J-ISIS: UNESCO & NetBeans
I’ve registered at Kenai a while ago, and one of the projects I’m watching there is the:
J-ISIS New UNESCO Java CDS/ISIS Software: Wiki: Home — Project Kenai.
“The J-ISIS project’s mission and goals are to develop a new multiplatform Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) ISIS suite that would provide the same successful concepts and functionalities as the actual UNESCO ISIS suite while removing the restrictions, being Client/Server, UNICODE, and benefiting of the latest software developments. One of the objectives was also to keep the assets and experience of the users. But the main objective is to develop a long-term solution that would be modular, easy maintainable and extensible.”
From the last sentence you might have guessed why I’m watching this project: It’s based on the NetBeans Platform. When the new Kenai Integration of arrived with NB 6.7 M3 I logged in and clicked the download link. On the download page you can get the application, and there’s also a PDF with screenshots to show the Application in action. Have a look, it’s quite impressive, and they are even using my favorite free Icon set :-). Would be a nice addition to the NetBeans Screenshots page.

I get a server error when I click on the link: PDF with screenshots: it says “We’re sorry, but something went wrong.”

All contribution would be important. J-ISIS as one of the best
information retrieval concepts tested all over the world in libraries and
archives.
It really need to cope with new architecture but the way J-ISIS was envisaged
get the best of both worlds.

I have tried many times to download J-isis from kenai site, but failed. Downloading stops at 30%.
As scheduled, has the final beta of J-isis released in the first week of July 2009?
And about the netbeans, is this netbeans is an alternate to J-isis, ie., can I have J-isis by just these netbeans?

@Hussain: Please report this to Kenai support. They can probably give you instructions for downloading. NetBeans is the platform J-isis is built on.
